Neuropsychological Assessment

I provide comprehensive psychological, neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and psychodiagnostic assessments. A comprehensive assessment offers an in-depth understanding of how the brain influences thoughts, learning, emotions, and behavior. Through the use of empirically validated tests and measures, it provides a holistic, data-driven picture of one’s overall functioning. A comprehensive assessment will help identify the underlying causes of challenges at home, school, work, and/or relationships, clarify potential psychiatric and developmental diagnoses (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, etc.), and guide evidence-based recommendations that promote growth, healing, and success.

At Mind Grove Psychology, each assessment is highly individualized and involves a thorough and compassionate process. Most assessments include tests that measure cognition (IQ test), academic achievement, learning, memory, personality, behaviors, emotional health, executive functioning, and developmental functioning. A neuropsychological assessment may be helpful in securing services or accommodations (e.g., extra time at school and on standardized tests), disability services, 504 plan, and IEP. It is also helpful to clarify whether specialized schools such as therapeutic, special education, gifted, or twice exceptional schools might be appropriate.

At the end of the process, clients receive an integrated report and a collaborative feedback session focused on translating insights into meaningful next steps and recommendations. When appropriate, participation in IEP meetings is also included.

Therapy

My therapeutic approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe that meaningful change begins within the safety of a genuine therapeutic relationship. Drawing from relational psychodynamic therapy and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), I pay close attention to what unfolds in the moment between us, using the in-vivo experience of the session to explore emotions, patterns, and ways of relating.

While the relationship is at the core of the work, I also integrate practical tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to simultaneously help clients make more tangible progress as well. My perspective is further shaped by a deep appreciation for the inherent spiritual awareness, resilience, and capacity for growth that exists within every person.

I approach each individual as unique, tailoring my style and interventions to fit your personality, history, and goals. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, as well as those who feel stuck, lost, or are struggling to find direction (“failure to launch”).
